Our mission: Making the most of food processing sidestreams

Food processing generates many sidestreams that are rich in valuable nutrients such as protein and fibre. However, most of the time these byproducts are not used to their full potential.

At NorthStar Proteins, we are on a mission to change that - starting with rapeseed meal, the solid byproduct of rapeseed oil extraction. Rapeseed meal is high in protein, fibre, and other important nutrients.

We use our deep expertise in biochemistry and biotechnology to develop natural processing technologies that convert rapeseed meal into clean-label, functional ingredients for food manufacturers.
